Private workshops can be organised at a mutually convenient time.  The workshop can be tailored to your interests.   Cost includes a 1L Fido Pickler Fermenting jar with airlock and a viscodisc - valued at $29.   Take home a jar of sauerkraut you make at this class.  If this interests you it would be best to make contact and organise a date.  Cost is $140 for the first person and $105 per person for any friends/family who wish to join you.

Come along and learn all about fermenting and making your own healthy, probiotic rich foods. Fermented foods are packed full of enzymes, vitamins, minerals and probiotics, which have a myriad of health benefits. These goodies assist gut health by promoting the growth of healthy flora in the intestine, enhancing the digestibility of foods. They are also high in Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Vitamin K2. Fermented foods support the immune system due to their nutritional content and supporting gut microbiota. Fermenting is a great way to preserve food while still keeping it raw and full of nutrients. Fermenting is no ordinary food preparation method, but truly an age old method of producing superfood.

The workshops will last for two hours. Amongst the topics to be covered will be Kombucha, milk kefir, water kefir, general rules and tips for fermenting, sauerkraut, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, tomato salsa, ginger bug, beet kvass and more. Discover the hype behind milk kefir and learn different ways to use it or learn how to keep your grains happy in alternative milks if you are dairy intolerant. Water kefir and Kombucha are not to be missed and will surely be made regularly in your house.

You will be introduced to a variety of traditionally fermented foods and drinks and given heaps of tips and ideas on how to incorporate cultured foods into your diet. Recipes will be provided plus a brine chart and a free SCOBY for making Kombucha at home. It is recommended that you bring a pen and pad to make notes.

To allay any fears you may have - If you are unwell on the day the attendance fee will be happily refunded. * Please do not attend if:

• You are unwell with a flu, cold or cough
• You have returned from a high-risk country in the last 14 days
• You have been exposed to someone who has tested positive to COVID-19
• You have been tested & are awaiting results

These private fermenting sessions can of course easily be rescheduled if either party is unwell.  The price of these workshops have been reduced as there is no longer the requirement to purchase fermenting equipment as part of the deal (although we do highly recommend that you do purchase quality equipment to ensure good results). Private sessions can be personalised as necessary depending on your wishes ie. leave out things you are not interested in, take into account your personal health issues, just make as many ferments as we can in the 2 hour slot for you to take home and enjoy or we can just make a batch of sauerkraut and discuss other things you can do to improve your immunity apart from consuming fermented foods etc.
