Weck Fermenting Equipment

These stylish, quality German jars are made of heavy duty glass and contain NO BPA! (Bisphenol A), lead, mercury or cadmium. Glass lids preclude issues with rusting and chemicals and the Weck clamps are stainless steel so will not rust.  These fermenting jars are fitted with a silicone grommet and water airlock which creates an anaerobic environment i.e. less chance of contamination, lower histamine ferments and no burping required. 

The shape of the Weck jars means it is very easy to weigh your vegetables down. The medium Weck dunking weight is a perfect fit for most Weck jars although unfortunately will not fit the 2.5L Weck jar.  The Pickle Pebble glass fermenting weight will fit these jars too and there may be the option to purchase a ceramic/stoneware weight for the Weck jars. 

Save $$$ by purchasing some Weck jars without airlock lids and swop the lids over when your ferment is ready to go into the fridge.
